The cannabis company of the province of Quebec

The administration of Quebec, Canada's province, announced on Thursday that it will expand. the use of the vaccination passport to customers of the Cannabis Corporation of Quebec (SQDC) and Alcoholic Quebec (SAQ) subsidiaries.

The measure is effective from January 18 and is not related to online sales.

While visiting RCI in a branch in Montreal, the guard at the entrance was talking to a customer about the new procedure while looking at the customer's identity document to verify that he was over 21, the minimum age for marijuana consumption in Quebec.

Another customer named Murad was about to enter the branch to buy marijuana. He preferred now not to have his full call posted.

In an interview with Radio Canada International, the Algerian, who has lived in Canada for ten years, said that he did not see a problem with the new procedure because he had received two doses of the vaccine against Covid-19.

I think we did everything that was required of us. I for my part obtained doses of the vaccine. We all understood that we had to do this to be able to travel, for example,

And for this immigrant working in the construction sector, “As long as the government doesn't impose the third dose, we're in luck. ''

In this regard, the Minister of Health of Quebec, Christian Dube, announced yesterday, Thursday, at a press conference, that “talks are currently underway intending to add a third dose to the vaccination passport, as soon as the majority of citizens have access to it.” Details will be revealed soon. ''

Thus, according to the minister, in the coming months, for the vaccination passport to be valid, it must include three doses of the vaccine against COVID-19.

The province of Quebec has administered a total of 15,399,427 doses of the vaccine since the vaccination campaign began in December 2020. Nearly 85% of the province's population has received at least one dose of the vaccine.

The province reported 15,874 new infections on Wednesday for a total of 696,182 since the outbreak began.

At least 203 new hospitalizations were recorded, bringing the total number to 1,953 people hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 207 in intensive care.

The epidemic killed 11,846 people, including 26 on Wednesday.

The Quebec government expects the number of hospitalizations to rise to 3,000, including 400 in intensive care linked to Covid-19, by mid-January.

Quebec authorities intend to limit the increase in the number of cases in the province during the fifth wave due to the Omicron mutant.

We are aware that all the sacrifices required of the citizens are not easy, but they are necessary, and I thank them for their cooperation.

We must do everything in our power to limit the effects of the pandemic on our employees and our very fragile health system. So we must reduce the number of cases and reduce hospitalization as much as possible.

Rashid is another customer of the Société québécoise du cannabis QC who preferred not to give his full name.

In an interview with Radio Canada International, he explained that the requirement for a vaccination permit to enter the institution’s branches was “exaggerated.”

This Moroccan, who immigrated to Canada eight years ago and works in the telecommunications sector, explained that he was shocked and “does not see the purpose of this procedure. We stay in the store for less than five minutes and wear a mask.”

He stated that he received two doses of the vaccine but does not always agree with the decisions of the county government.

He finds it absurd, for example, to wear a mask to enter a restaurant, “but as soon as you sit down you can take it off.”
